Speech recognition works best in a quiet environment. Make sure microphone and speech recognition permissions are enabled in Settings › Privacy & Security. If the problem persists, try speaking clearly and at a normal pace — the app is optimized for children's voices.
Go to Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone and enable the permission for TabTabTab. Do the same for Speech Recognition. Without these permissions the app cannot listen to answers.
From the home screen, tap the active profile name at the top. This opens the profile management screen, where you can add a new profile with a custom name and icon. Each profile has its own separate progress.
TabTabTab uses spaced repetition: facts are shown more often when they are about to be forgotten, and less often as they become consolidated. Tricky facts come back frequently; ones answered automatically are gradually put in the background.
A full crown means the table is mastered: the child answers all its facts quickly and correctly across several consecutive sessions. An empty crown means it was mastered but is now fading — worth revisiting soon.
Yes. TabTabTab's speech recognition works entirely on the device, with no audio data sent to external servers. The app works fully offline after installation.
Progress is saved locally on the device and is not synced with iCloud. If you have changed device or reinstalled the app, unfortunately it cannot be recovered. We are working on adding backup support in the future.
Each standard session consists of 20 questions and lasts around 3 minutes. You can choose which times tables to practice before starting.
